Cinderella Ballet Comes to McAllen Performing Arts Center
The World Ballet Company is set to perform a captivating rendition of Cinderella at the McAllen Performing Arts Center on November 5, 2025. This production is part of a 130-city tour that aims to bring the enchanting tale of Cinderella to audiences nationwide.
Choreographed by Estonia's Marina Kesler, this version of the classic fairytale is crafted for contemporary audiences and features an international cast of 40 professional dancers. The performance is characterized by its humor, charm, and stunning choreography, coupled with over 150 meticulously crafted costumes and elaborate stage sets. Kesler aims to create a cinematic experience for viewers, ensuring clarity in every gesture and scene.
The story of Cinderella, one of the most cherished folktales, has origins dating back to between 7 BC and AD 23, with numerous adaptations over the centuries. The ballet, scored by Sergei Prokofiev, follows Cinderella's journey from hardship to triumph, celebrating the rewards of kindness. Notably, over 60 percent of the World Ballet Company's audience encounters ballet for the first time through these performances.
